On Sunday, October 25, 2026, our laboratory held its autumn BBQ at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park. As autumn settled in, faculty members and students set their research aside for the day and gathered around the grill for some relaxed time together.
Once the charcoal was going, round after round of meat, sausages, and vegetables landed on the grill. Conversations flowed from research progress to everyday life, giving members from different years and research areas, who rarely get to chat at length in the lab, a great chance to get to know each other better.

After the meal, everyone headed into the park for a game of tag, and young and old alike had a blast. And as befits a ship research lab, the final group photo simply had to be taken in front of the park’s “pirate ship”!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who helped prepare the event. We look forward to the next one!
